MISS SILVER, THAT LOVEABLE FLOOZY, HAS RECENTLY BEEN
SEEN HANGING OUT WITH GOLD DIVISION MANAGERS ATTEMPTING TO GAIN SOME INSIGHT
INTO HER PREDICTIONS FOR THE 2008 GOLD DIVISION SEASON. SHE HAS NOW
COMPLETED HER IN DEPTH ANALYSIS AND IS READY TO MAKE HER ANTICIPATED
FINDINGS.
#1
Manager Art Bailey –
Miss Silver’s
favorite Gold Division team, most likely due to the fact she was constantly
wined and dined by team members at the Club’s weekly Saturday Night Steak
Dinner and Dance . Miss Silver at times even went on stage to sing with the
live bands.
Anyway Miss Silver’s quote, “This team is loaded with players who either belong to the Moose or party there, a definite party team. They may not knock many pitchers out of the box during Gold Division League games but they surely will lead the Division in knocking pitchers off the table at the Moose Club following the games. They will also prove NICE GUYS do finish last.” Newcomers to the GOLD DIVISION on the roster are BILL ALLEN and ANDY LIPTAK.

#3
Manager Don Welfley –
Look out for this team, there are certain indicators that point out this
could be a WELFLEY TECH year. (1. The manager (Don Welfley) is only lending
his generalship to one League this year and (2. There are no flood warnings
coming from Cuyahoga Falls (Don’s home town where in the past he has been
known to sob a lot over his drafted teams). A lot of versatility in this
line-up will allow DON to juggle his team to put the best possible line-up
on the field for every game. Definitely a threat to win it all. Division
newcomers to the WELFLEY MACHINE are DENNIS SCHRODER and GARY CARPENTER.

#5
Manager Wimpy Jaeb –
Team is
expected to rely a lot on the use of hand signals to communicate at the
beginning of the season until their sponsor delivers their uniform
color-coordinated hearing aids. After that look out! . MISS SILVER suggests the League 5-run maximum
runs-per-inning rule was put in to guard against teams like FAMILY HEARING
CENTER. FAMILY HEARING CENTER will never be out of any games with the
offense they offer, but defense will be the key to either being a CHAMP or
an also-ran. JOHN WALDSMITH, TONY CAIRNS, DENNIS OSBORN, PAUL HARVEY and TOM
LOCKHARD are FHS’s GOLD DIVISION rookies in 2008.

#6
Manager Jay Sullivan –
KP is MISS
SILVER’s pick to win it all. Her reason? She knows the playing ability of
the newcomers to the Gold Division on KP’s roster. She says, “Expect big
things from JOHN NEFF, DAVE YOHN, LOU SIQURANI and JERRY ICKES, they will
lead KP to the title”. Like MISS SILVER says, if that quartet pans out, you
might as well give KP the championship plaque now and play for second place.
If they don’t? Well, KP will be joining the MOOSE team at the MOOSE CLUB on
Saturday nights and forgetting about softball.”

#7
Manager Tiger Morgan –
In a straw
vote among the managers, TIGER MORGAN’s team was the overwhelming pick as
the eventual League champ. Team has no weaknesses on either defense and
offense. They can beat you either with the bat or with the glove. They are
also loaded with some exceptional newcomers (TOM KOCH, TONY VIVINO, RON
MEFFLEY, TOM MORGAN, FRANK COMERIATO and CHUCK WILLE) who are expected to
contribute greatly to the team’s success. There was a reason for the
managers to vote TEAM #7 as the League favorite entering the season but all
of them are now hoping they won’t discover that reason. TEAM #7 is a solid
choice for the 2008 title.
